Things to Do

Coniston Launch – A popular attraction in the Lake District thanks largely to its history. Here on Coniston Water, the region’s third-largest lake by volume, Donald Campbell broke the world’s water speed record no fewer than four times between 1956 and 1959. Book a lake cruise and learn more while taking in the stunning views.

Lake District Attractions – One of the most popular places to visit in the UK, the Lake District is known for its many lakes, towering hills and abundance of pleasant walks, not to mention its charming settlements. Be sure to make the most of your time at Hillcroft Park and see what the Lake District has to offer.

Carlisle – Head north and after passing Penrith, you’ll eventually reach Carlisle, a city that combines extensive history with all the modern attractions and conveniences you could ask for. Explore the castle, do some shopping, visit the museums and refuel in one of the many restaurants and bars.

Eating Out

Crown Inn Pooley Bridge – A riverside pub that’s been standing since the 17th century. Stop by Crown Inn Pooley Bridge for a round of drinks, a light lunch or a more filling evening meal. The pub is a comfortable setting for dining, with all meals prepared using locally sourced produce.

Woodstone Pizza And Flame Grill – If you’re in Penrith and you’re in the mood for pizza, book a table at this restaurant. Pick a pizza, customise your own or choose a burger, kebab or pasta dish instead.

Taste of Bengal – Another restaurant in Penrith is Taste of Bengal, which brings the tastes and culinary highlights of Bangladesh to Cumbria.
