Garthmyl Lodges, Berriew
Garthmyl Lodges is a pair of lodges near the Welsh village of Berriew, which lies close to the border with England. They’re set on a hill and have a pleasant countryside setting, while still being close to Berriew.
Garthmyl Lodges are a great base to explore the Wales-England border area, whilst providing a quiet and peaceful location.
Both of the lodges here are designed to be contemporary, spacious and convenient. They look appealing from the outside and are just as tastefully decorated and presented on the inside.
Each one is a single-storey property with plenty of space and all the fixtures, amenities and fittings you could need for an enjoyable, relaxing stay. Both lodges are pet friendly and have an outdoor decking area complete with a hot tub.
One of the properties has three bedrooms and can sleep six people, while the other has an additional bedroom and can accommodate eight.
When you stay at Garthmyl Lodges, you’ll have easy access to a wealth of attractions in both Wales and England. If you’re up for adventure, head northwest to Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park where you can practise all sorts of outdoor activities and see some of Wales’s most awe-inspiring natural features.
Closer to home, you’ll find lots of delightful towns and villages that are full of character. Dine in family-run restaurants, shop at independent boutiques and enjoy a round of drinks at local pubs. Be sure to see the natural beauty of Shropshire Hills National Landscape and admire the historic Powis Castle and Garden in the nearby town of Welshpool.

Snowdonia National Park – An hour away is the southern part of Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park, known for its towering mountains and visually impressive glacial formations. There are all sorts of outdoor activities available here from hiking and zip lining to kayaking and mountain biking.

Spice Fusion – If you’re in the mood for something exotic, visit the town of Welshpool and book a table at Spice Fusion. This restaurant specialises in Bangladeshi cuisine and has an interesting collection of dishes to enjoy.
The Checkers – Located in the heart of Montgomery, one of many scenic towns dotted along the Welsh-English border, is The Checkers. This restaurant’s menu highlights the best of contemporary British cuisine; there’s also an extensive wine menu.
