The local train station is a stop on the scenic Carlisle to Settle line.
Coniston Launch – Head to Coniston Water, the third-largest lake by volume in the region, and book a cruise. This famous body of water is where the world’s water speed record was broken four times by Donald Campbell between 1956 and 1959.
Visit Carlisle – While staying here, you’re just a short drive from the city of Carlisle, which is known for its extensive history of more than 2,000 years. Today, it’s a vibrant place with excellent shopping and dining opportunities, interesting museums and top historical attractions such as its castle.
Lake District Attractions and Hills – Head south and soon enough you’ll reach the glorious Lake District, a special place characterised by its towering hills and vast lakes. Explore this captivating part of the UK and take lots of photos!
