Whitsand Bay Holiday Park overlooks the gorgeous Whitsand Bay, which is known for its high clifftops, its lengthy beach and its dramatic coastal scenery. The resort is so-called because it stands on the grounds of an old fort that was used to defend the area from the French Navy during the era of Napoleon. A lot of care has been taken to preserve the ruins and other historic features that are scattered throughout the site.
