Carwinley Retreat is a collection of five unique holiday lodges, each of which has its own style, design and character. The small park is situated right by the hamlet of Carwinley, a short distance from the Scottish border. The lodges accommodate just two guests, and are a great choice for a romantic getaway.

Each property is unique : there’s a luxury barn conversion; a modern micro home with reflective glass walls; a cosy lodge; a converted shepherd’s hut and a charming cottage.

Carwinley Retreat benefits from having a lush countryside location, while at the same time being within easy reach of some great attractions. 

Within easy reach is Kielder Forest, which is England’s largest man-made woodland and is famous for its exceptionally dark skies. The forest also offers an exciting line-up of outdoor activities, from hiking and cycling to sailing and water skiing.

You are also close to the Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its broad, tranquil landscapes, charming towns and distinctive views.

For a slice of city life and culture, drive south and visit Carlisle, which is replete with history and has all the shops, restaurants and bars you could need.

Things to Do

Kielder Observatory – A unique attraction that’s sure to delight, astound and inspire. Visit Kielder Observatory, which is located under some of the world’s darkest skies, and gaze up into the depths of space.
