ABOUT LUXURY LODGE STAYS
Our story
Luxury Lodge Stays was founded in 2018 by father-and-son team Gareth and Ted Parry, with Gareth’s wife Sally playing a key role behind the scenes.
Ted, founder of digital marketing agency Amoredigital, had worked with a number of clients in the travel industry and recognised the need for a trusted high end holiday directory for the best luxury lodge holidays across the UK. He brought the idea to his father Gareth, a solicitor with over 40 years of broad experience, who was looking for an engaging retirement project. Together they founded Luxury Lodge Stays.
However, the real foundation of Luxury Lodge Stays goes back further than 2018. The family has a depth of knowledge surrounding the domestic holiday scene. Sally’s family ran a caravan park in Towyn, near Rhyl, for over 50 years, until it was sold in 2019. Furthermore, the family also owned a lodge at a quiet rural holiday park near Bala, and spent many years holidaying there with their three sons, Ted, Bobby and George. Between them, the family has a genuine, lifelong understanding of what makes a lodge holiday special — and what doesn’t.
That’s the standard we aspire to with the lodges we list on this site.
How we choose our lodges
We’re selective about what makes it onto the site: every lodge listed has been through our vetting process first.
Our process starts with identifying the best locations for a lodge holiday across the UK, then searching our partner sites for the standout properties in that area.
We actively look for lodges that have :
- A minimum rating of 4.5 out of 5
- Guest reviews that are consistently marked outstanding
- Recent, positive feedback from real guests.
Where it’s practical, our team also carries out on-site inspections or stays before a lodge is added.
If a lodge doesn’t quite hit the 4.5 mark, but offers exceptional value, we will review and list it, if it meets our strict criteria for a fantastic stay.
We only partner with reputable, established platforms and agencies specialising in quality lodge and holiday park accommodation — so you can trust that what you see here has already been through a thorough filtering process, not just pulled from an open listings feed.

Since launching in 2018, Luxury Lodge Stays has grown to feature over 600 hand-picked lodges and parks across the UK.

We work exclusively with well-established, reputable providers of luxury lodge accommodation, including: Sykes Cottages, Luxury Coastal, Forest Holidays, Booking.com, Hoseasons, Snaptrip, Shorefield Holidays, Park Holidays, Pure Leisure, and National Trust Holidays.
We also feature a small number of lodges listed directly by private owners.
How booking works
Luxury Lodge Stays is a curated guide, not a booking agent : we don’t take payments directly. When you find a lodge you love, we’ll point you to the relevant partner site to complete your booking securely with them, or for privately listed lodges, direct to the owner’s own website. This means you’re always booking directly with the people who manage the property, with us doing the hard work of finding it for you.
