Wateredge Mill Lodges is a collection of lodges that are a great option for anyone after a Lake District getaway. They’re homely and comfortable, plus they come with plenty of amenities and modern conveniences. The resort lies just outside Haverthwaite, a quiet village home to fewer than 800 people.

Choose one of the well-presented lodges and you’ll get to make use of a smart TV, Wi-Fi and your own patio with outdoor furniture. Each lodge is designed to be a comfortable and convenient home away from home. The design is sleek and stylish and the interior has an open-plan layout that guests should find suitable. Whichever lodge you stay in, you’ll have a suitable base from which to explore the Lake District.

The Lake District is a popular national park that attracts millions of people from near and far every year. Even though Wateredge Mill Lodges is located in the southern part of the park, you can still reach everything easily enough if you choose to stay here. Close by is a railway that takes you to the southern end of Windermere, the region’s most famous lake. Here you can hop on a boat and visit the towns of Bowness and Ambleside. Discover scenic nature walks, take advantage of the many hiking opportunities and have fun practising watersports such as paddle boarding and canoeing out on one of the many lakes.

Things to Do

Coniston Launch – Head to Coniston Water, the third-largest lake by volume in the region, and book a cruise. This famous body of water is where the world’s water speed record was broken four times by Donald Campbell between 1956 and 1959. https://conistonlaunch.co.uk

Alpacaly Ever After – Meet some alpacas and even go on walks with them amid the beautiful, dramatic scenery of the Lake District.

Lake District Walks and Hills – The Lake District is known for its dramatic landscapes featuring expansive lakes and towering hills, or ‘fells’. While staying here, be sure to explore the park and complete some of its many walking trails. Those fit enough can try to conquer a fell or two.

Eating Out

Anglers Arms – A traditional and friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of food and drink options available. Enjoy classic pub food and wash it down with some refreshing beverages.

The White Hart – This is another pub that’s well worth visiting if you fancy a comforting meal in pleasant surroundings. The White Hart is in nearby Bouth and is a historic building dating back to the 17th century; it’s full of character and has a large number of original features.

Rogan and Co – Situated in Cartmel a 15-minute drive away, this contemporary restaurant serves contemporary British fare. It’s set in a riverside stone cottage and has a cosy atmosphere.
