The Cowshed in Brent Knoll

Home // Locations // Somerset // The Cowshed in Brent Knoll

A short drive from the northern coast of Somerset is The Cowshed, a converted farm building that today functions as a luxury holiday home. It’s located in Brent Knoll, a friendly village that takes its name from the nearby hill of the same name, which is 449 feet high. Though The Cowshed is very much a historic property – it still has original stone walls – it’s been revamped to include a range of modern conveniences and features.

The property is capable of accommodating up to seven people in three bedrooms. It’s large enough that even when it’s at capacity, there’s still plenty of room for everyone. The high ceilings with their exposed timber beams, the open-plan living/dining/kitchen area and the wide windows add to the property all help the property feel spacious and airy. The decor consists of natural textures and muted tones to give the interiors a homely and welcoming feel. Two of the bedrooms can be found on the ground floor and they have access to the patio area, while the third is on the first floor and offers great countryside views. Right next to The Cowshed is an open barn, in which you’ll find the covered, six-seater hot tub.

This property is very well located for exploring Somerset. Explore the Mendip Hills and Quantock Hills, both of which are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and see just how picturesque and tranquil Somerset can be. For something more challenging, enjoy a walk up Brent Knoll itself and take in the panoramic views when you reach the summit. Be sure to visit the coast, which isn’t too far away, and the fascinating Cheddar Gorge.
