Runswick Bay Lodges is a picturesque resort roughly 5 miles north of Whitby. It’s right by the coast and overlooks Runswick Bay, a splendid destination with attractive coastal scenery, dramatic views and plenty of scenic walks. What makes the resort appealing is that even though it’s peaceful and quiet, it’s well placed for exploring the North York Moors National Park. It lies in the northeast part of the park and is close to beaches, lively villages, historic attractions and more.

 

The lodges here are ideal homes away from home. Each one is presented to a high standard and has stylish, contemporary decor, plenty of facilities and amenities, and more than enough space. The design is open plan and warm, neutral tones are used throughout to create a pleasant atmosphere. You can unwind indoors or if the weather’s nice, sit outside on the private deck area, taking in the fresh air with a drink or light snack.  

 

The North York Moors National Park is replete with great attractions and places to visit. From grand stately homes and interesting museums to towns steeped in history and breath taking landscapes, the park has it all. While staying at Runswick Bay Lodges, you’ve got everything on your doorstep. The resort is in the northeast part of the park and there are plenty of things to see, do and experience a short drive away.

Captain Cook Memorial Museum – Just over 20 minutes away in the delightful town of Whitby is the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. Pay a visit and learn all about the legendary seafarer and his legacy.

Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park – If you’ve got young children, they’re sure to enjoy visiting this theme park, which has scores of rides and attractions.

North York Moors – While staying here, you’re very well placed for exploring the North York Moors National Park. It’s known for its moorland clad in heather, its friendly villages and towns, and its attractive coastline.
