Stag’s Hide, Aviemore

Dating back to 1909, Stag’s Hide was once the gamekeeper’s cottage on Kinrara Estate. Today, this retreat is full of character, sleeps four and offers a peaceful base for exploring the Cairngorms. You’ll be gazing out at mountain views, surrounding woodland and wildlife right on the doorstep.

The cottage combines its rural character with simple Scandinavian-inspired interiors, natural textures and a squirrel log burner, striking the perfect balance between comfortable and cosy The open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is a welcoming place to unwind after a day outdoors, and there’s a Smart TV and Sonos speaker to set the mood when you’re having relaxed evenings in. There are two comfortable double bedrooms at Stag’s Hide, both with king-size beds that feature memory foam mattresses, duck-down duvets and luxury linen. One bed can be arranged as twin beds to suit different guests.

Venture outside and the cedar-clad hot tub and garden patio are waiting, both providing lovely spots to enjoy the scenery, with a barbecue available during the summer months. The contemporary wet room has a rainfall shower, and the heated storage cupboard is handy for drying outdoor clothing. Local paths and tracks can be accessed straight from the cottage, making it a great choice for guests who want both peaceful surroundings and outdoor adventures.
