Description

Located near the village of Armathwaite is Hesket Holiday Park, a small and welcoming park with a collection of pretty, homely lodges. It’s peaceful and relaxing thanks to its pleasant countryside setting. While staying here, it’s easy to unwind and take life at a slower pace. The village of High Hesket is just up the road and Armathwaite, which has a train station, is almost as close.

The lodges here are comfortable and convenient. They are attractive on the outside and have more than enough amenities and necessities on the inside. Each one of them is a single-storey property with a choice of two to three bedrooms , accommodating four or six guests. There is an outdoor patio area and some lodges have a hot tub here for you to relax in after spending the day exploring the wider area.

One of the benefits of staying at Hesket Holiday Park is that you’re very well placed for exploring not one, but two national parks: the Lake District and the North Pennines.

The park lies north of the Lakes and west of the Pennines, and both of them are just a short drive away.

Head to the Lakes and you’ll discover some of the UK’s most captivating scenery, with its rolling landscapes, mighty hills and vast lakes attracting millions every year.

As for the Pennines, here you’ll find scenic heather moors, picturesque dales and ancient woodlands.

Both have an abundance of opportunities for outdoor activities, from leisurely walks to adrenaline-pumping cycle trails.

Today, it’s a vibrant place with excellent shopping and dining opportunities, interesting museums and top historical attractions such as its castle.

Lake District Attractions and Hills – Head south and soon enough you’ll reach the glorious Lake District, a special place characterised by its towering hills and vast lakes. Explore this captivating part of the UK and take lots of photos!

Eating Out

The Dukes Head Inn – If you don’t fancy going far for dinner, stop by the local pub. Have a relaxing meal in a pleasant setting and enjoy delicious, freshly prepared pub classics.

Fantails – Located in nearby Great Corby, Fantails is a cosy English restaurant set within a former blacksmith’s workshop that dates back to the 17th century. If the weather’s good, make use of the private garden.

Fini’s – You’ll find this informal and relaxed dining venue at Willowbeck Lodge, a family-run boutique hotel in Scotby, just outside Carlisle. Here you can enjoy sumptuous food that’s expertly presented and tastes like nothing else.
